“HaKoach” means “strength” in Hebrew. We took the name of our association from the pre-war Jewish sports club established in Łódź.
We are a non-profit organization working to foster attitudes of openness towards national, ethnic, and religious minorities, with a particular emphasis on countering anti-Semitism and discrimination. The pillars of our activities are: collaboration with local minorities combined with advocacy activities and education through art in the field of Jewish culture.
The main focus of our activities is culture and education. Through our efforts, we aim to connect two worlds – religious and secular. We strive to rebuild the Jewish community in Łódź and create an open and friendly place focused on the exchange of ideas, cultural creation, and education.
Our organization has seven members. Each of us has a different background. Among us are: a musician and educator, a project coordinator, a journalist, and two psychotherapists. The president of the association is Dawid Gurfinkiel – a young Jew, musician, and educator associated with the Jewish Community of Łódź.
