HAKOACH ASSOCIATION

About US

BEGINNINGS

How  HaKoach
Was Created

HaKoach was founded in 2020 by Eliza Gaust and Dawid Gurfinkiel. We are a non-profit organization. Initially, we focused on two key pillars: culture and art, and education. We believed that creativity was an effective tool for building understanding, and education was a path to amplifying the voices of individuals and communities.

We conducted workshops on Jewish culture for both children and adults, creating a space for learning about history, tradition, and contemporary issues. We also conducted educational and training activities to support self-advocacy and active participation in social life.

OUR NAME

What does
HaKoach mean?

The name "HaKoach" comes from Hebrew and means "strength." However, we understand it not as a force of domination, but as a force of community, dialogue, and solidarity. It is in interpersonal relationships, mutual understanding, and openness that we see the greatest potential for social change.

The HaKoach Association operates out of the need to build a space for dialogue, mutual respect, and cooperation across divisions. Over time, in response to the challenges of the modern world, we have expanded our activities to include areas related to anti-discrimination education, supporting organizations and institutions in implementing DEI principles (diversity, equality, and inclusion), and broadly defined civic education. We believe that an informed society, based on knowledge and empathy, is the foundation for lasting change.

True strength lies
in diversity
and collaboration.

MISSION

Why we do
what we do

Our mission is to create projects and activities that connect people, promote peace, and strengthen dialogue as an effective tool to counter polarization and hate speech. We strive to ensure that every person—regardless of their background, identity, or beliefs—can feel part of a community based on respect and understanding.

We believe that true strength lies in diversity and cooperation. Therefore, HaKoach is not just an organization—it is a space for meeting, conversation, and joint action toward a more open and solidary society.
